Peat therapy – the healing power of nature in the warmth of a sauna
Peat is the silent healer of Finnish nature.
Its birth is slow and sacred – over thousands of years, the earth has absorbed the power, moisture and minerals of plants, which are now returned to us in the form of soft warmth and nurturing touch.
Peat therapy is an ancient way to revitalize the body and mind. The gentle heat of the sauna opens the pores of the skin and awakens the flow of life, which the peat gently balances.
This is not just a treatment – it is a moment of returning to the earth.
The profound power of nature
Peat contains humic and fulvic acids, minerals and antioxidants that support the body's own cleansing and metabolism.
Only lämmin Peat is applied to the skin, it binds waste products and calms superficial blood circulation. The heat deepens, and a message is sent through the skin to the nervous system: now you can let go.
The smell of peat is the smell of the earth – slow, steady and gentle. It reminds us of where we come from.
Peat care experience in the warmth of a sauna
At the Sipoonjoki traditional sauna, peat therapy is carried out in the soft heat of a smoke sauna.
Peat is applied to the skin either independently or under supervision, and allowed to take effect in the heat of the sauna. The combination of warmth, peat and silence deepens the experience – it is both relaxing and grounding.
Heat rises under the skin, blood starts circulating, and the mind descends into a state where there is no hurry or task.
